Aside

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Aside ("we", "us") builds a focus and app-blocking app for iPhone. We designed Aside to be private by default. This policy explains what we do and don’t collect.

The short version

What we collect

On-device only (never sent to us): your app/category selection (as an opaque Screen Time token), your focus sessions, schedules, streaks, challenge progress, and settings — including your chosen app language.

Anonymous analytics (PostHog): aggregate product events (e.g. "a focus session started") tied to an anonymous device identifier — never to you personally, and never including the names of apps you block or your app usage.

Purchases (RevenueCat + Apple): Apple processes payment; we manage subscription status using an anonymous identifier. We do not receive your payment details.

What we do not collect

Third parties

Data retention & deletion

Local data lives on your device; deleting the app removes it. Because we don't identify you, we can't link analytics back to a person. To stop analytics, delete the app.

Children

Aside is rated 4+ and intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

We’ll update this page and the "Last updated" date if this policy changes.
